Financial Knowledge Conflict-Free and Copyright Policy

The Financial Knowledge mission is to provide financial and benefits information and adheres to a strict code of ethics in all aspects of business operations to protect employers, employees, and instructors. Financial Knowledge strives to create a learning environment without conflicts of interest.

At Financial Knowledge, all classes are taught in a classroom environment. Financial Knowledge instructors provide the knowledge and life skills needed for individuals to make their own financial and benefits decisions with confidence. Financial Knowledge prohibits its instructors from selling financial products or offering advisory services in the classroom. Financial Knowledge does not have any affiliations, partnerships or agreements with any other firms including those that provide financial planning, investment advisory, tax planning, employee benefits consulting, accounting, banking, brokerage, legal, or real estate services. Moreover, all courses conducted by Financial Knowledge are for the sole purpose of general education and do not provide specific investment or financial advice.

All course materials, including workbooks, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations, are the copyright property of Financial Knowledge. No part of these course materials may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by anyone without permission in writing from Financial Knowledge. It is further understood that any and all course materials that Financial Knowledge develops including course materials that incorporate employer plans are the copyright property of Financial Knowledge. No one may record the classes provided by Financial Knowledge in any manner (including, but not limited to, audio recording and video recording) without written permission from Financial Knowledge.

Financial Knowledge Network, LLC ("FKN") respects the privacy of our students who utilize the Financial Knowledge registration system and its subdomains. This updated Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you use the FKN registration system and the services we provide. We have included changes to address the new standards introduced by the European data protection law known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR: On May 25, 2018, a new European Union (EU) data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), takes effect. The GDPR gives individuals more control over how your data is used and places certain obligations on businesses that process information of those individuals. Under GDPR, you as the user have complete access to your personal data, you have the ability to correct errors in your personal data, you can erase your personal data, object to processing of your data and export personal data.

We've updated our Privacy Policy and internal policies to reflect the new requirements of the GDPR. You have the ability to access, download, and request deletion of your personal information. Our updated privacy policy provides additional details about the information we collect and how we use that information. We've also explained your choices and the control you have over your information.

Your privacy is our top priority.

We will never sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone else and will not share your personally identifiable information with others except in the limited circumstances described in this Privacy Policy.

Many measures are taken to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information which include physical maintenance, technological maintenance and internal processes and procedures which are done to protect your information.

Before utilizing the Financial Knowledge Registration System, your employer (later referred to as Client) has engaged FKN as a service provider of financial education. This privacy policy applies to only our registration system and not to any other providers of financial education that your employer may use.

What Information is Collected and How it is Collected

In order to use the FKN registration system, we will ask you to register with us. As part of the registration process, we require that you provide your first name, last name, email address, and create a password.

Use of the Information We Collect

We use the information we collect to manage your financial education program with us. Our registration system gives you the ability to register for upcoming courses, view recorded classes (if applicable), obtain continuing education units (CEUs), and contact support. Your information is used for registration tracking purposes and also to alert you about your course registrations, cancellations, and CEU credits.

Circumstances Under Which Information We Collect is Shared

Financial Knowledge will only share your contact information (first name, last name, and email address) at the request of the Client to the extent of which courses you have registered and/or attended for their internal use of managing our program within their organization.

Clients may also request contact information for the purpose of providing you information regarding other programs and services offered by the company.

What We Do to Protect the Data We Collect

We secure all personal information on our registration system which is secured to industry best practices.

We regularly update our systems to install security updates and patches. We have regularly scheduled maintenance periods for patching and apply all patches on a delayed schedule to ensure proper testing.

In addition to the above measures, we use modern firewalls and antivirus/antimalware to prevent intrusions and detect any that have taken place. File access is logged. Any attempts to brute-force user accounts result in the account being locked and the attempt logged.

We regularly conduct virus scans and network scans on our servers and machines. All logins are logged on authentication servers and file access is logged. We verify that servers are not running extraneous programs and software firewalls are set to prevent any access from devices or programs that are not expected.

We encourage our users to play a role in securing your own data by creating strong passwords on our site. We recommend a password with at least 15 character that use a combination of upper and lower case letters, number and symbols.

Please be aware that no security measures are 100 percent guaranteed. Although we are confident that the measures we are taking will keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties may be able to break through our security and access data. Financial Knowledge assumes no liability due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.

How You Can Update, Correct and/or Erase Your Personal Information on Our Site

If there are any changes to your personal identifiable information such as your first name, last name or email address you can update this information in the Edit Profile function of your student account or you may call Financial Knowledge direct at 408-414-5050 or Toll Free at 866-343-2838. Upon your written or verbal request, your data can be erased from our system. Please contact us via email or telephone if you wish to have your data erased from our site.
